Riverside Community Engagement Fund. |

Riverside Community Engagement Officer (Kay Davies) has advised of a short-fall in their spending from the Riverside Community Engagement Fund. This fund is primarily for community and voluntary groups within Sefton (although they can look more favourably on applications with regards to South Sefton where the concentration of their properties are). The fund looks to support projects taking place within the borough and do not have to be focused around Riverside tenets, but reflect the key priorities of the organisation : Unemployment (worklessness), Young People, Financial Inclusion (i.e. credit union), Older People, GreenSpaces(environment), DigitalInclusion(IT), NeighbourhoodManagement, Health&Well-being, FuelPoverty. These are not ridged groupings which a project must fit into, a project can focus upon one, or loosely fit into a number. In the past the fund has supported cultural diversity / community cohesion projects, under the neighbourhood management title and also the older / young people. The application deadline is Friday 29th January, however Kay is willing to extend this to Wednesday 3rd Feb to allow for applications to be completed. The form is a very basic application form in itself shouldn't take that long to complete. Applications are either for small grant (up to £250) or large grants (up to £1,000). Click here for a copy of the application form and here for a copy of the grant approval. If you want to discuss projects etc with Kay with regards to the funding then I know she would be happy to do this and her contact information is; Kay Davies.
