The Duncan Society and Mersey Care NHS Trust is pleased to announce the following event. Exploring Healthy Communication Speakers & Cast: Anna Blay, Michael Dwerryhouse, Rachel Ezard, Joe Forster, Simon Hesketh, Greg Kelly, Karen Kyffin and Jacqui Peters are service users, staff and students from the low secure mental health service at Mersey Care NHS Trust. Time: 6pm (5.45pm Drinks, Biscuits and Networking)
Venue: Quaker (Friends) Meeting House, 22 School Lane, next to The Bluecoat, Liverpool L1 3BT Summary: Service users and staff at a secure mental health unit in Liverpool have used drama to explore what happens when we communicate about our health. With the help of a theatre company we wrote 'You're Just Not Well' and will be performing it for the Duncan Society. With the help of some magic dust and changing places we will see how "... clear speaking gets you a lot further than swallowing dictionaries". Better communication leads to some surprising results, including ways of promoting human rights in what seem like the most difficult situations. The event is free and all are welcome to attend!
