THEN CONSIDER APPLYING TO BECOME AN INDEPENDENT MEMBER OF SEFTON LOCAL SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN BOARD

 All Local authorities are required by the Government to have a Safeguarding Children Board which has members from agencies such as the police, health, children social care, probation and representation from other voluntary and community groups. The aim of all Safeguarding Boards is to ensure that there are plans in place in their area to keep children safe. 

Sefton Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) wants to be an inclusive board and represent Sefton’s rich and diverse community. To achieve our aims we want recruit two Independent Board members onto our Board to help us in contributing to keeping local children safe.

 Working as an Independent Board member with Sefton LSCB will be a challenging and very important role. However it will also be extremely rewarding and provide you with an opportunity to serve the children and families of Sefton. You do not have to be a professional but what we want is your commitment to support our work and a willingness to challenge the thinking others. As an Independent Board member, you will be an equal member of the LSCB and your contribution will be valued by all members - an integral member of the Board. All members of Sefton LSCB are required to complete tasks, attend meetings and challenge decisions to improve the safety of children and young people in Sefton and your tasks will be no different.

If you are interested in becoming a Lay Member for Sefton LSCB please send a letter outlining how you are suited to a role of this nature and why you would like to undertake the role of Lay Member. All correspondence is to be sent to the address below.
